What sets CJC-1295 apart mechanistically is its Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) technology: a maleimidopropionic acid linker attached to the peptide reacts with a free thiol group on circulating albumin, covalently attaching CJC-1295 to this abundant blood protein. Once bound, the peptide circulates along with albumin itself, which has a naturally long half-life in the bloodstream.
The Resulting Half-Life Extension
This albumin-binding mechanism gives CJC-1295 an estimated half-life of 5.8–8.1 days, compared to the few minutes native GHRH or unmodified Sermorelin last in circulation. That extension is a difference in degree so large it changes the practical research use case entirely — a multi-day-acting compound behaves very differently in research protocols than one requiring frequent re-dosing to maintain effect.
How This Differs From Tesamorelin and Ipamorelin
CJC-1295 and Tesamorelin both act on the GHRH receptor but use different stabilization strategies: CJC-1295 via DAC albumin-binding, Tesamorelin via N-terminal chemical modification.
