BPC-157 + KPV: Research Overview
BPC-157 and KPV are both studied in gut-tissue research, but through different mechanisms — one for tissue repair, the other for anti-inflammatory activity — which is why researchers commonly examine the two together.
Both are part of KYIN Peptides' standard catalogue and can be ordered individually, or pre-combined (with two additional ingredients) in our KLOW Blend.
What Is BPC-157 + KPV?
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in gastric juice, discovered by Predrag Sikiric's research group at the University of Zagreb, and is one of the most extensively studied compounds in gut-repair and musculoskeletal-healing literature. KPV (lysine-proline-valine) is the C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-MSH, identified by Hiltz and Lipton in 1989 as retaining most or all of the parent hormone's anti-inflammatory potency without its pigmentation effects. The two compounds come from unrelated research lineages — gastric physiology versus melanocortin pharmacology — but both have research literature specifically involving gut tissue, which is the main reason they're frequently paired.
Why Study Them Together for Gut Health?
BPC-157's research base includes models of gastric ulcer healing and gut-lining repair, while KPV's strongest preclinical evidence comes from Dalmasso et al., who found that oral KPV reduced disease activity and inflammation in mouse models of inflammatory bowel disease. Because one compound is studied for repairing gut tissue and the other for reducing inflammation in that same tissue, researchers commonly study them combined to examine whether a repair mechanism paired with an anti-inflammatory mechanism produces broader effects in gut-tissue research models than either compound alone.
Research Focus
Both compounds sit in KYIN's Healing & Recovery category alongside GHK-Cu and the four-ingredient KLOW Blend, which combines BPC-157 and KPV with GHK-Cu and TB-500 in a single formulation. See our Healing & Recovery research overview, or the individual research profiles for BPC-157 and KPV.
- Gut-tissue repair research
- Anti-inflammatory mechanism research
- Combined gastrointestinal research models
Clinical & Preclinical Trial Data
No trial has tested the BPC-157 + KPV combination itself. Individually: no completed human clinical trials exist for BPC-157 — a registered Phase I trial (42 healthy volunteers) was cancelled in 2016 with no published results, and the only human data available is a small 2025 pilot study of intravenous BPC-157 in 2 healthy adults reporting no adverse effects. No human trials have been conducted for KPV either; its strongest preclinical evidence remains the Dalmasso et al. mouse IBD data referenced above. See the individual BPC-157 and KPV research profiles for the full evidence picture on each compound.
Availability
BPC-157 and KPV are both part of KYIN Peptides' standard catalogue and can be ordered individually — see the BPC-157 and KPV product pages for pricing. They are not sold as a separate pre-mixed two-ingredient blend; researchers wanting a combined product can instead order KLOW Blend, which includes both of these ingredients alongside GHK-Cu and TB-500.
BPC-157 + KPV questions
What is BPC-157 + KPV?
It's a research pairing of BPC-157, a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein in gastric juice, and KPV, the minimal active anti-inflammatory fragment of alpha-MSH. They are not sold by KYIN as a single pre-mixed blend — researchers typically order both individually.
Why are BPC-157 and KPV studied together for gut health?
BPC-157's research base originates from gastric-protective and gut-repair models, while KPV's strongest preclinical evidence comes from oral dosing in mouse models of inflammatory bowel disease. Because one is studied for tissue repair and the other for anti-inflammatory activity in the same organ system, researchers commonly pair the two to study combined effects on gut-tissue research models.
Does KYIN sell a BPC-157 + KPV blend?
Not as a single pre-mixed product. Both BPC-157 and KPV are part of our standard catalogue and can be ordered individually, or as part of KLOW Blend, which combines both of these ingredients with GHK-Cu and TB-500 in one four-ingredient formulation.
